Stalls

The infamous bi-annual Langham Street Fayre will be held on Saturday 28th July 2012, and this year there is a new committee running the event. The money raised by the Fayre and associated events is used to support the Parish Room (Village Hall), Church, Playing field, School and other local causes. Every pound raised helps to maintain these facilities and enhance the village community.

It has been decided that the Fayre will be slightly smaller this year, with approximately 80 craft and food stalls on the main street only and also in and around the church.

Due to the reduction in numbers of stalls and a new committee, the booking process has changed from previous years. We are keen to provide a good cross section of stalls to the visitors and therefore are asking stallholders to initially submit their application to the committee for selection, with detailed information and photos (if you wish) of your products and clarification of the size/type of stall you require. This will ensure there is less duplication of stalls, and increase your chances of making a good profit.

This year we are also offering stallholders an opportunity of promoting their wares by donating one of their products for the Grand Draw Raffle or Tombola stalls run by the Street Fayre committee. If you would like to donate a gift, please indicate where appropriate on the application form.

If you are selected, you will be contacted with a confirmation of booking and asked to submit your fee for the stall. This year stallholders have the option to pay by cheque or, for those with access to internet banking, via bank transfer. If your application is not selected, we will of course let you know as soon as possible.

As Langham village already hold their own tombola, bottle, books and bric-a-brac stalls raising money for the village, the committee has decided that unfortunately any similar type stalls are unable to participate this year. However, we are happy to accommodate registered charity stalls selling gifts, and applications for these are welcome.

There is a new rate tariff for the stalls, detailed below. These have slightly increased from 2010 and are non-negotiable, however as mentioned above, there will be fewer stalls which should help you sell more! Please note we do not provide tables or chairs for outside stalls, so you will need to bring your own. If you would like to bring a gazebo (max size 3x3m), there are a limited number of these pitches available. Applications received after 1st May 2012 will incur a higher rate and none will be accepted after 30th June 2012. Please do not send any payment until your application has been confirmed.
